Use with AI Apps
Your meetings and dictations, in the AI apps you already use. Ask Claude, Cursor, Codex, or ChatGPT what was decided in a call, turn your last meeting into a follow-up, or find something you dictated last week.
Every meeting comes with its full transcript and notes. There is no time limit, no usage cap, and no account, and it is free. Your AI app reads what Oriole Voice keeps on your Mac; Oriole Voice itself sends nothing anywhere.
Claude Desktop
Open the downloaded file and click Install. It finds Oriole Voice wherever you keep it.
Cursor
Claude Code
claude mcp add oriole -- "/Applications/Oriole Voice.app/Contents/MacOS/oriole" mcp
Codex
codex mcp add oriole -- "/Applications/Oriole Voice.app/Contents/MacOS/oriole" mcp
Any other app that runs MCP servers
Add this to the app's MCP settings:
{
"mcpServers": {
"oriole": {
"command": "/Applications/Oriole Voice.app/Contents/MacOS/oriole",
"args": ["mcp"]
}
}
}
These commands assume Oriole Voice is in your Applications folder. If you keep it somewhere else, use its real path.
ChatGPT
In the ChatGPT desktop app, open Settings → MCP servers → Add server, choose STDIO, and set the command to /Applications/Oriole Voice.app/Contents/MacOS/oriole with the argument mcp. ChatGPT shares its server settings with Codex, so the Codex command above adds it too.
ChatGPT on the web and on the phone cannot reach it: Oriole Voice keeps your meetings on your Mac.
What it can do
- Search your meetings for what was said, and get the moments it appears in.
- Read a meeting as the same markdown the app copies: your notes or, once they exist, the generated notes built from them, then the transcript with speaker labels.
- List your meetings, newest first or between two days, each with its length and who was on it.
- Find your dictations, the newest ones or every one that contains some words.
That is the whole list. It cannot start or stop a recording, write notes, or delete anything, and the app needs no setting to allow it.
Things worth asking
- What did we decide in yesterday's call with Alex?
- Turn my last meeting into a follow-up email.
- Pull the action items from this week's meetings into this file.
- Find what I dictated about the launch date last week.
The command line
The same command works by hand, if you want to see what your AI app sees. To type oriole in Terminal, add this line to ~/.zshrc and open a new window:
alias oriole='/Applications/Oriole Voice.app/Contents/MacOS/oriole'
Then:
oriole search pricing --after 2026-09-01
oriole meetings --limit 5
oriole meeting
oriole dictations launch date
oriole help prints every command and the folder it reads.
Two things to know
The AI app you connect sends whatever it reads to its model provider. Oriole Voice sends nothing, but your AI app's answer is only as private as the app you gave it to.
Your transcripts hold other people's words, and they were not written for an AI app to act on. Review anything an AI app proposes to do with them.
